The Foundation exists to strengthen nonprofit organizations by providing charitable grants that support leadership capacity, governance effectiveness, strategic planning, and overall organizational health, helping nonprofits build sustainable community impact.
Karen was known for her practical wisdom, business insight, and ability to help nonprofit leaders make sound strategic decisions. The Foundation was created to honor her legacy by continuing the type of guidance and impact she provided throughout her life.
Grants are available to nonprofit organizations recognized as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) that are seeking to strengthen leadership, operational effectiveness, governance practices, or long-term sustainability.
Grant funds may support organizational health reviews, strategic planning initiatives, leadership development, governance training, and other capacity-building efforts that improve a nonprofit’s long-term mission effectiveness.
Grant applications are reviewed by the Foundation’s Board of Directors based on mission alignment, organizational readiness, potential community impact, and the likelihood of improving long-term sustainability.
